General Purpose
The Membership Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for driving membership growth, retention, engagement, and marketing initiatives for the club. This position combines strategic membership sales, relationship management, community outreach, and marketing execution to enhance the overall member experience while achieving membership and revenue goals. The role serves as the primary ambassador for attracting prospective members, retaining existing members, and promoting the club through various marketing channels and community partnerships.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and execute membership sales strategies to achieve membership growth and revenue targets.
- Proactively prospect, qualify, and convert membership leads through outreach, tours, referrals, networking, and club events.
- Create and implement annual membership plans, goals, and retention strategies.
- Manage membership onboarding, renewals, freezes, cancellations, and membership changes.
- Maintain accurate membership records and sales activity within club systems.
- Prepare and present monthly membership reports, performance metrics, and forecasts to leadership.
- Respond to membership inquiries, emails, and phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Organize member engagement activities and programs to strengthen retention and satisfaction.
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote membership sales, club programs, events, and amenities.
- Create content for websites, email campaigns, social media, brochures, flyers, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Manage and update club website content and digital communications.
- Oversee social media strategy, content creation, engagement, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate creative development of marketing collateral, signage, photography, and promotional assets.
- Partner with external vendors, graphic designers, printers, and digital marketing resources as needed.
- Monitor marketing effectiveness and provide regular reporting on campaign performance.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and strategic partners.
- Represent the club at networking events, community functions, and promotional activities.
- Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities that increase club awareness and membership opportunities.
- Leverage local media, social platforms, and community resources to expand brand visibility.
- Support daily club operations to ensure a positive, professional, and welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with department leaders to ensure exceptional member experiences and service standards.
- Maintain member feedback logs and assist in resolving member concerns and service issues.
- Ensure compliance with club policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Assist with staff training related to membership sales, service standards, and member engagement.
- Protect the confidentiality and privacy of member information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Hospitality Management, Recreation Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in membership sales, marketing, hospitality, country club operations, fitness, recreation, or a related industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and membership growth objectives.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong sales, prospecting, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating marketing content, campaigns, and promotional materials.
- Proficiency with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and content management systems.
- Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM/membership management systems.
- Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, or similar platforms preferred.
- Customer-focused mindset with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

- Frequently sits, stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands to operate standard office equipment.
- Occasionally lifts and carries materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
