About the role
Choose Lansing is seeking an energetic, relationship-focused Membership & Community Outreach Coordinator to grow and strengthen our membership while fostering meaningful connections throughout the Greater Lansing region. This full-time position reports to the Director of Membership & Community Engagement and plays a key role in member recruitment, retention, engagement, and community outreach.
Work Environment
Creative, collaborative, and fast-paced office environment located in downtown Lansing. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend events.
Responsibilities
- Recruit new members while building strong, long-term relationships with existing members to encourage engagement and retention.
- Coordinate membership onboarding, renewals, sponsorship opportunities, and member communications.
- Maintain accurate membership records, invoicing, reporting, and prospect management within the CRM.
- Assist in planning and coordinating member events, networking mixers, educational programs, and annual events.
- Support the growth and promotion of Choose Lansing's Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) program.
- Represent Choose Lansing at community meetings, networking events, and other local functions.
- Provide outstanding customer service while serving as a resource for members and community partners.
- Collaborate with staff to strengthen member benefits and enhance community engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher preferred.
- One to three years of experience in sales, customer service, membership, community relations, or business development preferred.
- Experience in the hospitality industry, nonprofit, or membership-based organization is a plus.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred.
