Membership Accounting Specialist

Job Duties

  • Accounts Payable
    • Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
    • Prepare and process payments via check, ACH, or electronic payment methods.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies.
    • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.
    • Absorb responsibilities for month-end accounts payable reporting and record maintenance.
    • Maintain organized financial records and document retention practices.
    • Support audits and financial reviews by providing requested documentation.
  • Customer Service & Administrative/Membership Support
    • Provide exceptional customer service through professional and timely communication with members, customers, vendors, and internal staff.
    • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks while ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Perform accurate data entry and maintain records within organizational systems.
    • Process and update information in databases and software applications.
    • Monitor requests and follow through to completion with a strong sense of urgency.
    • Absorb responsibilities for daily administrative and operational functions.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
    • Support both automated and manual workflows as needed.
    • Adapt to changing systems, procedures, and business needs.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
