About the role

Assists management with the supervision of associates in the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assign duties, communicate goals, and provide feedback to associates.
  • Train associates on processes, procedures, and member service approaches to resolve complaints and issues according to company guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, support the Open Door Policy, and participate in recruiting, hiring, scheduling, promoting, coaching, and evaluating associates.
  • Support membership by providing information on membership types, programs, and benefits to current and prospective members.
  • Process memberships, upgrades, and credit accounts; encourage renewals; participate in sales and marketing events; and complete required documentation to meet membership goals.
  • Promote the value of Sam’s Club products and services.
  • Acknowledge members, identify their needs, assist with purchasing decisions, and provide guidance on self-service technology.
  • Assist members with transactions using registers or self-checkout and ensure club pickup orders are filled.
  • Oversee the assigned area by handling claims and returns, zoning, arranging merchandise, identifying shrink and damages, and maintaining cart/flatbed availability.
  • Maintain parking lot cleanliness and assist members with transporting items using cart retrieval equipment.
  • Complete accounting records, file transactions, and prepare documentation following accounting office procedures.
  • Provide funds for register operation, create and interpret financial reports, assist with accounting investigations, and prepare daily deposits.
  • Investigate overages, shortages, and Cash Fund Transfers while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of financial information.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and customers.
  • Analyze information from multiple sources, monitor progress, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Lead and participate in teams by sharing resources, determining customer needs, coordinating work assignments, and providing feedback.
  • Model adaptability to change and help others navigate new challenges.
  • Embrace diversity in people, cultures, and ideas; foster an inclusive workplace where associates feel supported and connected.

Requirements

  • 6 months of retail experience, including operating front-end equipment (e.g., cash register).
  • 6 months of customer service experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a front-end team.
  • Supervisory experience, including hiring, evaluating, mentoring, developing, and managing workloads.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 to $29.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
