Member Specialist (I, II, III)

About the role

Coosa Valley Credit Union is seeking a Member Specialist to join our East Rome Branch team. This role involves providing excellent member service, performing a variety of transactions, and referring products and services to members.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent member service in the branch, via email, chat, and phone.
• Performs transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and account reviews.
• Learns and becomes comfortable with credit union products and services, such as accounts, cards, online banking, and loans.
• Refers products and services to members based on their needs.
• Processes and opens new accounts, as well as other items as requested by the member.
• Handles cash accurately while following security measures.
• Reads, studies, and applies credit union policies and procedures.
• Identifies members following current security procedures.
• Participates in side jobs including night drop processing, ATM processing, branch balancing, check balancing, auditing, and maintaining branch organization.
• Maintains compliance with financial regulations and policies.
• Completes appropriate and applicable training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in banking is preferred.
• Previous experience working with the public and/or customer service is preferred.
• Experience in cash handling is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Advanced skills in using computers and related equipment, 10-key calculator, multi-line telephone/intercom systems, and general office equipment.
• Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with Credit Union staff and external contacts.
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with various personnel and member information.
• Light travel required for occasional visits to different branch locations or off-site trainings.
