Starting pay: $20.04/hr. Final salary is dependent on a candidate’s experience and qualifications.
About the role
This position is responsible for assisting members with TruWest product, service, and account information. You will assist with branch opening and closing duties, teller duties, opening new accounts and deposit products, and loan processing. Responsibilities include verifying information on deposit applications, approving or declining applications while ensuring compliance with credit union policies and procedures.
You will effectively manage existing members and a book of business to support retention and growth through sales of deposit, loan, and referrals to investment and mortgage products. Daily activities include monitoring transactions, compiling statistical reports, investigating and resolving errors, maintaining and balancing a cash drawer, and ensuring the daily balancing of all negotiable instruments.

Responsibilities
- Identify members’ financial needs through profiling and promote appropriate products/services to maximize cross-sale opportunities and meet referral/sales goals (including TruService survey scores).
- Perform all teller-related duties and actively manage lobby traffic, providing personalized, professional service to exceed member expectations.
- Use the lobby management app (Lobby Tracker) to track and enhance member interactions.
- Accurately complete and process product, service, and loan applications, interfacing with members as needed.
- Open all deposit accounts and originate/process applicable loan products while complying with state and federal laws.
- Understand and manage Business Accounts, IRAs (including Ascensus), Xpress Accounts, and LoansPQ (following up on loan queues to ensure approved loans are booked unless canceled).
- Educate members about their financial choices by listening, understanding their needs, and offering appropriate solutions.
- Perform Notary and Signature Guarantee transactions.
- Adhere to all credit union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act, Security, Confidentiality, and Human Resource policies.
- Make outbound sales calls to existing and potential members and handle incoming member calls.
- Create and maintain a “book of business,” following up with members at regular intervals.
- Develop ideas for successful sales opportunities and proactively resolve problems.
- Process source documents, checks, and negotiables according to established procedures.
- Understand electronic check processes and adhere to anti-fraud check detection software.
- Demonstrate and assist members with eServices, including setup on personal devices or branch equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum of one year of Teller II or similar sales experience at a financial institution.
- Advanced knowledge of TruWest products, services, and account requirements to identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, and basic lending regulations.
- Ability to perform math calculations with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of TruWest computer systems, PC skills, and office equipment (e.g., 10-key calculator, copy/fax machines).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Professional image in dress, appearance, and behavior.
