Member Service Assistant

About the Role

Actively greets members, verifies membership cards, keeps entry counts, and checks receipts upon members exiting. Performs and documents warehouse safety and security checks. Provides a high level of member service.

Responsibilities

• Conducts hourly building safety and security checks, walking the building and perimeter, pushing carts, and picking up or putting away stray items.
• Corrects safety and security problems, such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits, and fills out reports for the duty manager.
• Attends warehouse safety meetings.
• Maintains the entrance area by opening/closing store doors, greeting members, verifying membership cards, offering carts, directing members, and keeping the coffee grinder and entrance/exit area clean and dry.
• Uses a handheld clicker to keep count of entering members, reports half-hourly counts to front-end managers, and records counts on weekly reports.
• Ensures workers make it to their cars safely, watches for members trying to enter after closing, and scans for suspicious behavior.
• Observes closing managers leaving, reports suspicious activity to the duty manager, and calls the police if necessary.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery as needed.
• Assists with department duties and in other warehouse departments as necessary.
