Member Recruitment & Retention Specialist
Recruitment of New Members
This role involves working with the Communications & Engagement Manager and the underwriting and finance teams to research and conduct outreach to potential new members for CIRSA’s property/casualty and workers’ compensation pools. The position will assist prospective members in completing applications and gathering necessary documentation, while coordinating with CIRSA’s in-house General Counsel to confirm eligibility requirements. Additionally, the role will monitor BidNet for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and coordinate submissions, as well as recruit non-member entities to use CIRSA’s à la carte risk management services.
Member Retention Activities
This role will collaborate with the Communications & Engagement Manager to identify, establish and implement member retention activities in view of CIRSA’s goals of achieving full member retention and high levels of member satisfaction. These efforts include monitoring and assessing developments that indicate the need for retention efforts and developing plans to ameliorate member retention risks.
Data Entry
This role will collaborate with other team members to ensure CIRSA’s database (Origami Risk) is up to date. This role will collaborate with other team members to verify and process members’ access requests to the CIRSA’s website and claims portal (Origami Risk).
Risk Management Content
This role will leverage insights from member visits, other events and industry research to collaborate with internal Risk Management professionals on the creation of engaging content for various platforms, including in-person events, webinars, email campaigns, newsletters, and blogs.
Attendance at CIRSA Risk Management Events
This role will involve traveling to regional seminars and safety courses hosted or sponsored by CIRSA, where the aim is to effectively communicate CIRSA’s diverse offerings and their benefits to members and potential members.
What You Bring To CIRSA
- 3-4 years of experience in public entity pooling, insurance underwriting, risk management, municipal safety or risk management, or a related field.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proper English usage, editing, spelling, grammar, writing styles, and punctuation.
- Experience with the government RFP and procurement processes and submission of proposals; (a plus)
- Advanced knowledge of underwriting and risk management principals;
- Strong analytical skills – ability to translate financial data, actuarial information, and coverage information into layperson terms and presentation materials;
- Creativity and adaptability;
- Associate in Risk Management (ARM) (a plus);
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or Canva (a plus) for designing promotional materials;
- Proficiency with computer, especially MS Office, Origami Risk and DOMO (a plus);
- A valid driver’s license, as travel is required (up to 40%);
- and
- Ability to lift 40lbs.

Hiring Range
The hiring range for the position is $84,059 to $105,074 annually, depending on qualifications. This position will qualify for use of a company leased vehicle given the travel expectations.
