About The Role
You will design our technical approach to understand how agents could be misused for biological harm, and measure where current safety guardrails fall short. You will lead a team of research engineers and biologists building datasets to understand the capabilities of agents in dual-use areas across:
- Protocol design
- Protocol troubleshooting
- DBTL loops
- Genome/protein design
- Biological design tools
- Understanding and working with viruses, bacteria, or toxins etc
Requirements
- 5+ years hands-on experience with synthetic biology, virology, microbiology, or bioengineering
- Experience in cloning and genome editing with reverse genetics being a plus
- Must be comfortable coding, running bioinformatics analyses in your area of expertise, and using biological design tools
- Proficiency in Python and/or R
