About the role

The Role Output is developing a biological reasoning model that learns at the scale and complexity of life, enabling novel drug treatments. This role requires expertise in molecular biology and computational methods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand training datasets for biological models, incorporating molecular principles and diverse data sources.
  • Design and implement benchmarks to evaluate model performance against real-world molecular phenomena.
  • Collaborate with model researchers to determine optimal training data strategies and integration methods across various biological scales and modalities.
  • Create rigorous data splitting and evaluation protocols to ensure model generalization and robustness.
  • Stay updated with the latest biological data sources, experimental methods, and molecular databases, identifying new training signals.

Requirements

  • PhD in computational biology, biophysics, structural biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related biological field with 2+ years of post-doctoral or industry research experience.
  • Deep understanding of molecular interactions, protein structure, and biological data at the molecular level.
  • Experience working with large-scale biological or molecular datasets, including sourcing, cleaning, integrating, and analyzing heterogeneous data.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, capable of building computational pipelines for data processing at scale.
  • Understanding of what machine learning models require from training data, including coverage, quality, balance, and evaluation rigor.
  • Experience with computational biology tools such as structure prediction, molecular docking, or virtual screening.
  • Experience training or evaluating machine learning models, particularly on molecular or biological data.
  • Publications in computational biology, bioinformatics, or molecular informatics.
  • A background in cheminformatics or molecular data analysis.
  • Experience working with protein or molecular language models.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with model researchers and other interdisciplinary teams.
