Girl Scouts - Dakota Horizons is a mission-driven nonprofit that helps build girls of courage, confidence, and character. Through council-sponsored events, camps, and hands-on experiences, girls build skills, make lifelong friends, and create unforgettable memories during their most formative years. Our volunteers and adult members play an essential and rewarding role in facilitating these opportunities for girls—helping them grow, learn, and positively impact their communities.
We’re seeking an action-oriented and relationship-driven Member Engagement Manager to strengthen girl and volunteer experiences across the council. In this role, you’ll implement Girl Scout camps and programs, maintain regular communication with Service Unit Leaders and Troop Leaders to ensure volunteers and girl members feel supported, excited, and connected to Girl Scout programs and offerings. If you are highly organized, resourceful, and love creating meaningful experiences, this is a chance to lead impact at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement programs and camps that improve member retention and enhance volunteer support in your assigned geographic area.
- Coach and mentor volunteers with effective communication to build healthy, productive troop and Service Unit relationships.
- Collaborate with the Membership Recruitment team and Girl Experiences Teams to grow membership and engagement.
- Track and analyze data and trends to improve program efficiency, effectiveness, and member experience.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a related field required; Bachelor’s Degree in communications, business administration, or education preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in nonprofit management, volunteer coordination, event coordination, community relations, or other related experience.
- Genuine passion and enthusiasm for the Girl Scout mission.
- Strong organization, planning, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; Salesforce or similar CRM experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Midwest.
Pay & Benefits
- $46,000 – $49,000 annually, depending on experience

Schedule & Work Environment
- Variable scheduling within core business hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 7am – 6pm
- Friday: Offices closed in the afternoon
- Hybrid work environment (3 days in office, 2 days work from home)
- Occasional evening and weekend travel, with some overnight travel required
- Position based in Sioux Falls, SD
