The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) is seeking a service-driven and detail-oriented professional to support the KLC Insurance Agency by administering employee benefits, assisting members, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Process and review employee benefit and health insurance applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist members and employers with enrollment platforms, invoices, ID cards, providers, pharmacies, and benefit questions.
- Provide hands-on support with claims filing, claim resolution, and communication regarding missing or updated information.
- Educate members on employee benefits, including HSAs, HRAs, FSAs, Section 125 Plans, COBRA, HIPAA, telemedicine, EAPs, and ACA basics.
- Maintain accurate documentation and notes within the applied software system for all member interactions.
- Support open enrollment efforts, including preparing packets and assisting with benefit presentations.
- Collaborate with marketing agents and senior marketing agents to service local agents and member groups, including cross-selling coverage options.
- Assist with bond services and maintain working knowledge of KLC insurance programs.
- Provide backup support within the department and assist with special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least three years of experience in the insurance industry.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of employee benefits and health insurance administration.
- Experience with Applied Systems and Microsoft Word preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
- Health and Life insurance license required or willingness to obtain.
- Valid Kentucky driver’s license and ability to travel in-state as needed.
