Melt Shop Operator

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains ladles in use in the melt shop
• Supports the operation and loading of furnaces with scrap iron utilizing overhead crane to a specified temperature for processing
• Maintains temperature controls and regulates heating time
• Identifies, measures, and adds alloys to ladle iron for pouring preparation
• Collaborates with the manufacturing team to ensure production conformity
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance
• Experience inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify errors or defects
• Ability to work in and around extreme heat
• Experience operating crane and forklift
• Basic computer skills
• High school diploma or GED
