Melt Helper

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of tasks to assist in set-up, run, and tear down of furnaces.
• Identify material coming out of molds.
• Load, operate, and unload anneal furnaces.
• Transport and ship electrodes.
• Build, rebuild, and repair Ladles, Launder Boxes, and Stopper Rod Assemblies.
• Operate jib hoist and the 5-ton crane.
• Operate launder box drier and stopper rod drier.
• Maintain logs and records.
• Can up weighed out heats in correct sequence.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Assist with raw materials, maintenance, remelt, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Required to pass IME screening.
• Required to pass Respirator Protection screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Fork truck experience (preferred).
• Ability to use ordinary arithmetic, including fractions.
