Melt Deck Operator

About the role

Charter Manufacturing is a fourth‑generation family‑owned business. Charter Casting in Shawano is hiring Melt Deck Operators for 3rd shift (12‑hour shifts, 6 pm–6 am). Two positions are available at 2900 E Richmond St, Shawano, WI 54166.

Responsibilities

• Transport melting materials and supplies from the warehouse or other locations to the melt deck
• Operate melting furnace charging equipment
• Learn to operate the melting furnaces
• Remove full slag hoppers from the melt deck and transport to commercial refuse containers
• Maintain personal safety and the safety of others in the area

Requirements

• 1 year prior experience in manufacturing, foundry, metals, or a related field
• Commitment to company values: trust, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement
• High school diploma (GED program available)
• Ability to push, pull, lift, and move up to 60 lbs
• Basic math and problem‑solving skills

Pay

Starting at $27/hour plus a $2,000 sign‑on bonus.

Schedule

3rd shift, 12‑hour shifts, 6 pm–6 am.
