About the role

This position leads outreach and services for Head Start families, focusing on recruitment, enrollment, and supporting families with available services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily child attendance records and support families in maintaining good attendance.
  • Work with MELA Managing Director and ECE Division Director to ensure proper implementation of policy council/executive committee for education approved Head Start Eligibility points.
  • Input enrollment applications into all electronic records and conduct internal audits of Head Start enrollment and attendance files.
  • Review Head Start enrollment applications to determine eligibility, prepare and send acceptance and denial enrollment letters, and present eligible applications to the program manager for review.
  • Collaborate with family services, health services, and education staff to plan the annual health/parent orientation.
  • Manage a family caseload, provide ongoing support and follow-up, partner with families to complete the family needs assessment, family partnership agreement (family goals), and document all family engagement, services, and case notes accurately and timely into the electronic records.
  • Support family engagement through workshops, activities, and events, and assist with planning, coordinating, and facilitating family-focused events and activities.
  • Exercise and maintain high levels of confidentiality, handle difficult situations calmly and professionally, and perform basic numerical calculations involving income calculations and average daily attendance percentages.

Requirements

  • Associates of Art Degree or two-year college certification.
  • Five (5) years of general office practice; five (5) years of administrative and/or supervisory/managerial experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
