Job Description

Primary responsibilities consist of but are not limited to installation and maintenance of overhead distribution conductors and equipment. Lineman will be expected to participate in underground construction, as well as performing large equipment removal or setting, including but not limited to pad mount transformer.

  • Construction of 15, 25, 35 kV poles
  • MV Cable terminations including live front, load break and dead break
  • Must presently have a working knowledge of all phases of Distribution and Transmission Construction, Maintenance and Operating.
  • Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers and groundwork with utility line crew required.
  • Able to work on tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system.
  • Able to create/view a site layout from construction drawings.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Medium Voltage experience.
  • Eagerness to advance to the next level and assist in the growth of the team.
  • Good critical thinking skills and the capability to troubleshoot and make logical project-minded decisions.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction.
  • Self-starter and team player.
  • Must be available to travel extensively (up to 100%) within regional states, including overnight stays for up to weeks at a time if required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Class A CDL Preferred.

The salary range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, which reflects a good-faith estimate based on market data and internal equity.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time
  • Must be capable of working in inclement conditions to include extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Must be physically capable of manually digging & back-filling holes and trenches.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
