Medium Voltage Technician

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service when in client facing situations.
  • Troubleshooting a wide variety of industrial and manufacturing systems.
  • Troubleshooting and installation of motor control systems.
  • Making manufacturing / light industrial installations including UPS.
  • Generator installations.
  • Medium Voltage (5KV to 25KV) installations, terminations, testing (HiPot).
  • Able to manage small crew.
  • PCL troubleshooting and programming.

Requirements

  • State of Texas Master or Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Texas Driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Holder of a Texas CDL not required but considered a plus.
  • All candidates must be able to pass drug testing and national minimum 10-year background check.
  • Potential candidates are required to have a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Certified thermographer – not required but a plus.
  • MM Fiber and/or Cat 5 - Cat 6 cabling troubleshooting, installation, and testing – not required but considered a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, and rain.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses always), respirator when required.
  • Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts.
  • Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
