Pay: $21.50/hour
About the role
The Medication Technician provides support services to residents, including medication management and assistance with activities of daily living.
Responsibilities
- Accepts and documents new medications brought into the community per policy.
- Safely prepares and assists residents with medication administration.
- Maintains accurate medication documentation and records.
- Completes the three checks of the six rights.
- Responds to on-site emergencies with the emergency response team.
- Takes vital signs as indicated.
- Provides personal escort services to residents as requested.
- Conducts welfare checks on residents as directed.
- Keeps supervisor informed of residents’ status and significant changes in condition.
- Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
- Provides clerical support and receptionist services for the department as needed.
- Participates in disaster preparedness and other community-wide activities as directed.
Requirements
- A minimum of six months’ experience as a Medication Technician in a Senior Living Community or Pharmacy Technician certification.
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification required.
- Current CNA certification a plus.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
