About the role

The Medication Technician assists residents with medications under supervision of a licensed nurse. They also perform routine resident-related care duties and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

  • Accepts, accounts, and documents all new medications brought into the facility.
  • Safely prepares and aids with resident self-administration of medications.
  • Maintains accurate medication documentation and records.
  • Guides the resident in maintaining their schedule of daily activities, while maintaining the resident's sense of independence.
  • Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising.
  • Transfers, transports, and escorts residents as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • A high school graduate, student, or equivalent.
  • Completion of required RCFE training as Medication Technician.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification.
  • At least one year of experience as a caregiver in a facility or in-home caregiving.
  • Knowledge and practice of safe lifting and back care techniques.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Minimum one-year experience preferred as Medication Technician.
  • Likely to be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

Pay

$22.50 per hour starting wage, with potential for additional sign-on bonus of $500.

Schedule

Full-time position, PM shift (2:30pm-11pm), 4:2 schedule.
