Medication Technician - Assisted Living - FT

Responsibilities

  • Aid residents with their daily medications, treatments, and resident care as assigned.
  • Notify Supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered according to directions and document the reason(s).
  • Maintain clear, accurate, complete, and confidential records on resident medication and care.
  • Track all orders for medication changes and/or refills, notify the pharmacy, and report any missing medications.
  • Assist caregivers in their duties and document incident reports.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and resident alerts or requests.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
  • Lead with a spirit of teamwork and open communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED), required.
  • Certification or education as required by state regulations.
  • Valid CPR & First Aid certification.
  • 1+ years of prior related work experience in a similar healthcare role, within a similar industry/work environment.
  • 1+ years of experience handling medications preferred.

Qualifications

  • Willingness and ability to effectively manage and respond to resident behaviors.
  • Comfortable with technology for documentation.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions and handle stressful or emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently without day-to-day oversight and supervision.
  • Positive and professional image in accordance with MBK values.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive motion.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds, as necessary.
  • Ability to move throughout the workday, in the community, and between neighborhoods.
  • Ability to assist in the physical movement of residents during routine transfers and in emergency situations.

Variable days with weekend availability, 2:00pm - 10:00pm
