Medication Specialist - Keenan House for Men

Essential Job Functions

  • Adheres to all applicable state and federal regulations; ensures compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures, code of conduct, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain medication confidentiality and security
  • Responsible for storing and retrieving medication from storage
  • Document medications on medication administration records and medication sheets
  • Orient new residents to the Program’s medication policies and procedures. Observe medications being taken by residents
  • Report medication misuse concerns to Clinical Supervisor
  • Report medication errors to the compliance department and the Bureau of Addiction Services
  • Directly connect residents to healthcare providers and prescribers. Work with providers and pharmacies to coordinate refills and to prevent individuals from running out of medications.
  • Responsible for counting, inventorying and disposing of medication. Ensure an accurate return and release of medications to individuals at the time of discharge.

Qualifications, Experience and Education

  • High school diploma required
  • At least one year of residential addiction treatment experience required
  • At least one year of medication observation experience preferred
  • EMO (End Mass Overdose) Health Medication Specialist Training preferred
