About the role

Under general supervision, performs and/or supervises delivery of health services for all residents; directs and manages staff to ensure the safety and well being of the residents.

Responsibilities

  • Know and understand the vision, purpose, values and goals of Vineyard Place Memory Care.
  • Assess health and safety needs of residents; oversee medical care (medications/treatments).
  • Assure that social model of assisted living is in operation.
  • Assist with family contact when medical issue is involved and provide information about residents' conditions and discuss alternative actions.
  • Provide assessment input about residents to the clinical services director.
  • Participate in the preparation for the Department of Social Services annual inspection.
  • Assist in development of annual strategic plan goals for the health issues in the resident services department; actively participate in the total strategic plan goals for the resident services department.
  • Act as a back-up to the director in his/her absence.
  • Attend in-service training workshops, educational classes, and meetings.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Act as liaison with doctors and residents.
  • Conduct work tasks safely and in compliance with the community safety program.
  • Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers.
  • Assist in other departments as needed.
  • Schedule transportation for residents to appointments if resident is unable.
  • Perform other related essential duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, vocational/technical training.
  • At least three years of experience, preferably in a geriatric setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, methods, and practices of the community.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Methods and procedures involved in handling emergency situations.
  • Use of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Medication dispensed to residents.
  • Supervisory methods and techniques.
  • Records, graphs, reports, etc. used in the daily performance of duties.
  • Principles and practices of nursing care.

Qualifications

  • Medication Technician Certification or State equivalent.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, as required by law.

Schedule

Sunday through Wednesday, 10 PM – 6 AM.
