Medication Aide (RMA)- Second Shift

Offering the highest standard of medical and clinical treatment, our services span every level of care—including detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. Avenues is both JCAHO and CARF accredited and in full compliance with all ASAM standards. We are hiring Registered Medication Aides (RMAs) for our new inpatient residential location opening in Norfolk, VA, specifically for the evening shift (3pm-11pm).

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, timely medical care to stabilize clients and enable them to engage fully in treatment.
• Assist with all nursing shift duties, including vitals, drug screens, medication management, charting, and reporting.
• Collaborate with extended medical and clinical teams for seamless coordination of care.
• Manage, order, and restock all medical supplies as necessary.
• Schedule medical appointments and arrange aftercare providers for post-discharge.
• Assist with all pharmacy needs and prescription authorizations.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid licensure to serve as a medication aide in this state (RMA).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of substance use and its bio-psychosocial consequences.
