About the role
Provides strategic leadership and oversees sales operations within an organization by setting sales targets and goals, developing sales strategies and plans, managing a sales team, monitoring sales performance, building and maintaining customer relationships, and collaborating with other departments to drive revenue growth. Applies leadership skills, market knowledge, and sales expertise to motivate and guide their team, optimize sales processes, and achieve sales objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develops strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives by analyzing market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to identify sales opportunities and drive growth.
- Conducts thorough needs assessments, qualifies leads, and engages in solution-based selling to address and resolve customer pain points.
- Develops and nurtures client relationships to drive customer acquisition, satisfaction, and retention.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover of new accounts to implementation or account management teams.
- Consolidates information on sales activities, performance metrics, and revenue targets to provide accurate sales forecasts and regular reports to sales leadership.
- Conducts sales research and competitive analysis to identify market gaps, differentiate the company's offerings, and provide key input for product development and marketing initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to sales activities, data privacy, and code of conduct.
- Educates team members on the requirements and specifications for the use of appropriate business processes and systems to support initiatives.
- Guides team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure the delivery of exceptional services and support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitors industry information and competitive environment of the marketplace to position Aetna’s strength accordingly.
- Educates constituents on Aetna-specific policies, product information, and procedures as well as industry issues and related current topics and expects the same of team members (e.g., HIPAA, health disparities).
- Manages complex negotiations. Positions products, rate levels, and expanded product portfolios to increase sales and maximize revenue.
Requirements
- Minimum 7-10 years of work experience.

- Adept at business intelligence.
Qualifications
- Sales management experience for supervisory positions.
- Certified Sales Professional (CSP) preferred.
- Health and Life license preferred.
- 3 years of work experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, specialized training, relevant professional qualification, or equivalent work experience.
Pay
The typical pay range for this role is $75,500.00 - $158,304.00. This pay range represents the base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
