Responsibilities
- Process, research, analyze, and manage ambulance claims for assigned payor types.
- Ensure claims are billed on a timely basis.
- Monitor postings and billing to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations.
- Work with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's and clients to collect all balances.
- Manage actions related to delinquent accounts and minimize write-offs.
- Provide technical assistance to staff for training purposes and problem solving.
- Achieve performance goals and objectives (individual or departmental) as established by the manager.
- Manage resources to meet department goals.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, HMO's and hospice billing.
- Analyzed accounts receivable for accuracy and filed reconsideration on denied claims.
- Submit, adjust, and void Medicare and Medicaid claims efficiently.
- Experience working with insurance portals.
- Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Working knowledge of medical terminology/ICD-10 codes, preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to work independently and with a group.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have access to high-speed internet-at least 20mbps download, and must be hardwired.
- In person and hybrid in the Oklahoma City area.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards; ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards; ability to sit, lift, stoop, bend, stretch, walk, stand, push, pull, reach, and other physical exertion; must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone; must possess visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and operate a motor vehicle.
