About the Role

Pafford Medical Services is accepting applications for a Medicare Billing Associate in Oklahoma City.

Responsibilities

- Full-Time - Nonexempt - Responsible for processing, researching, analyzing, and managing ambulance claims for assigned payor types. - Ensure claims are billed on a timely basis - Monitor postings and billing to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations. - Work with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's and clients to collect all balances - Manage actions related to delinquent accounts and minimizes write-offs - Provide technical assistance to staff for training purposes and problem solving - Achieve performance goals and objectives (individual or departmental) as established by the manager - Manage resources to meet department goals - Communicate effectively with all levels of staff - Other tasks as needed. - Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, HMO's and hospice billing - Analyzed accounts receivable for accuracy and filed reconsideration on denied claims. - Submit, adjust, and void Medicare and Medicaid claims efficiently. - Experience working with insurance portals - Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) - Working knowledge of medical terminology/ICD-10 codes, preferred - Knowledge of medical terminology - Ability to work independently and with a group

Requirements

- Must have access to high-speed internet-at least 20mbps download, and must be hardwired - In person and hybrid in the Oklahoma City area - Physical Requirements: - Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. - Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. - The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds - Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. - Work may require sitting, lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical exertion. - Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone. - Must possess visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and operate a motor vehicle.
