Medical Transporter

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 1 year experience in medical transport, whether external or internal transport (Required)
• Other experience includes positions within a hospital or healthcare setting or customer service institution (Preferred)
• BLS Certified by American Heart Association (Obtain within 3 months of hire)
• Possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s License and meet auto insurability requirements approved by Phoebe Putney Health System’s insurance company

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safe driving standards
• Provide excellent customer service
• Perform lifting duties according to established dynamics
• Follow hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines
• Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization
• Complete other duties as required and follow all job functions per departmental policies and procedures
• Maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility through self-education and attendance at ongoing educational programs
• Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory in-services, requirements, and competency evaluations on time
• Demonstrate competency in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs
• For non-clinical areas, attend training and demonstrate usage of age-specific customer service skills
• Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate
