Medical Technologist- Transfusion Services
About the role
The Medical Technologist position at MultiCare is an excellent technical opportunity responsible for performing patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance, and technical problem resolution. This role requires a service-committed individual who is detail-oriented and capable of performing complex data analysis, exercising sound independent judgment, and demonstrating critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities
- Receive specimens, establish and maintain positive identification of specimens
- Determine suitability of specimen
- Acquire/prepare reagents as needed
- Perform instrument maintenance and calibration
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences (required)
- Master’s degree in Medical Technology (preferred)
- Certification for Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), or MT (ASCP), or AMT or MT (AAB) (required)
- Specialist Certification in discipline (preferred)
- Specialist Hematology, SH (ASCP), Microbiology, SM (ASCP), Specialist BldBnking, SBB (ASCP), Tech Chemistry, SC (ASCP) (preferred)

Pay and Benefits
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay scale is $44.73 - $70.94 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
