Medical Technologist - Rapid Response Lab - 40 hrs - Evengins

About the Role

Join the Rapid Response Lab Team at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT. As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will perform and report a wide range of routine and highly complex analyses across multiple lab sections—directly impacting patient diagnosis, treatment decisions, and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques and procedures.
• Ensure operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college/university and successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MT program or MLT certification program.
• MT-ASCP or equivalent level certification offered by one of the professional societies. Must be eligible to take the certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment if not already certified.
• New graduates are welcome; experience is preferred.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (We are unable to sponsor an employment visa for this position).

Schedule

40 hours per week, evening shifts, every other weekend, and rotating holidays. Must be available for EPIC Training on day shift.
