Medical Technologist - Rapid Response Lab - 40 hrs - Days

Johnson Memorial Hospital – Rapid Response Lab is seeking an experienced Medical Technologist to provide highly skilled analysis of blood, fluids, and tissue samples. Johnson Memorial Hospital and Home & Community Health Services provide a continuum of health‑care services to those living and working in north central Connecticut and western Massachusetts. The 92‑bed hospital and home health and hospice agency have been anchor institutions in north central Connecticut for more than 100 years.
Responsibilities
- Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
- Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques and procedures.
- Ensure operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating, completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college/university and successful completion of a NAACLS‑accredited MT program or MLT certification program.
- MT‑ASCP or equivalent professional certification, or eligibility to take the certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.
- New graduates are welcome; experience preferred.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
Schedule
Full‑time, 40 hours per week on day shifts, with occasional weekends and rotating holidays.
