Medical Technologist PRN

About the Role

The Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs tests on samples of blood, urine, and other body fluids to obtain information used in diagnosing and evaluating patient medical status. This role supervises Medical Lab Technicians (MLT), participates in Performance Improvement activities to ensure continuous Quality Improvement, and maintains awareness when interacting with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers. The position promotes a supportive, team-oriented environment and fulfills departmental responsibilities aligned with the long-range plan, mission, vision, and values of TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids for diagnostic purposes.
• Supervise Medical Lab Technicians (MLT).
• Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement activities.
• Maintain professionalism and awareness in interactions with patients, visitors, and co-workers.

About the Facility

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is a 100-bed hospital serving Rutherford County, Tennessee. The facility offers complete medical care for adults and children, including emergency, surgical, and many other services. The medical staff consists of approximately 500 physicians across more than 45 specialties, with many physicians maintaining offices on the hospital campus.
