Medical Technologist - Part Time - Variable Shift

The Medical Technologist - MT position at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas is seeking talented professionals to join their team. Responsibilities

• Maintains high competency in operating laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting, machine repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Supports quality assurance through variance reporting, quality control, performance improvement, and proficiency testing.
• Communicates effectively within the Laboratory Department, across Laboratory Services, and with other members of the healthcare team to enhance patient care.
• Processes reliable test results, analyzes, calculates, and reports results with critical skills related to patient conditions.
• Performs routine shift start-up, including quality controls and documentation, and maintains instrumentation during shifts.
• Utilizes specialized knowledge to perform general duties and promptly notifies physicians and healthcare team members of corrected and critical results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an approved training program for Medical Technologist.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting within the last 10 years.
• CLIA qualification for high complexity testing.
• National certification or eligibility for certification.
