About the role

Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selects and performs additional procedures when indicated.

Maintains workflow and adjusts as necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Evaluates test results for clinical significance, validity, and appropriateness.

Follows established policies for reporting and notifying test results.

Monitors and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment, documenting calibration, maintenance, and repairs.

Recognizes and corrects malfunctions in testing or equipment.

Ensures quality control and quality assurance practices are adhered to, taking corrective action when necessary.

Labels specimens correctly and prepares them for testing.

Directs, trains, and assists medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff.

Develops and implements education and training protocols for new team members.

Improves laboratory procedures, policies, and processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Performs specialty testing in areas including transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry.

Supports disease-specific accreditations by meeting turnaround time goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.

Pay

$24.10 - $46.05 per hour

Schedule

Full-time 2nd shift hours from 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. with rotating weekends and holidays.
