Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician

Full-time, night shift position with a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for qualified candidates.

About the role

The Medical Technologist performs phlebotomy and laboratory testing, understands the clinical significance of results, monitors instrumentation, and reports results accurately and rapidly.

This position works 3×12-hour night shifts plus one 8-hour shift every other week, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Performs all clinical testing in assigned department.
• Records and reports test results accurately and promptly.
• Performs and interprets quality control testing following established guidelines.
• Maintains a high level of quality assurance.
• Practices established safety procedures, including Universal Precautions and proper use of safety equipment.
• Recognizes problems by following prescribed strategies and makes necessary corrections; consults supervisor when criteria are unclear.
• Coordinates and evaluates new reagents, procedures, and equipment as requested.
• Performs routine scheduled and specialized maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or related field, or Associates Degree in MLT.
• Certification from American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent; eligible for certification.
• Active certification must be maintained if applicable.
• Effective communication skills.
