About the role
This role involves performing cytogenetics testing, including cell culture, FISH, and karyotyping, with additional testing based on lab needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct STAT and routine complex clinical tests on biological specimens using manual and automated methods.
- Ensure timely and accurate results.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret findings.
Requirements
- Florida Cytogenetics or Molecular Biology license (required before start).
- Relevant certification (e.g., ASCP) required.
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
- Completion of a clinical training program.
- Preferred certification (e.g., ASCP).
- Knowledge of laboratory methods, instrumentation, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work with various laboratory equipment and handle exposure to biohazards and chemicals.
