About the Role
The laboratory medical technologist performs routine and specialized tests independently or with minimal supervision in one or various sections in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Recognizes the clinical significance of each test performed and reports results within established time frames. Actively supports the department’s continuous quality improvement and customer service goals through modeling of appropriate behavior and by providing a work environment conducive to attaining these goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests with minimal supervision.
- Recognize the clinical significance of test results and report them within established time frames.
- Support continuous quality improvement and customer service initiatives.
- Participate in project teams as needed.
- Adapt to the age-specific needs of patients.
- Utilize computers, automated instruments, and mechanical apparatus effectively.
- Meet deadlines consistently.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related science, or applicable Associate’s degree.
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in all areas of responsibility from the State of Florida.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship (applicants requiring sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered).
