Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic laboratory testing on patient samples to support physicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of disease states.
  • Follows standardized procedures to prepare, collect, and analyze specimens, including blood and bodily fluids, ensuring accuracy and quality in all testing performed.
  • Operates and troubleshoots laboratory equipment, performs both automated and manual testing, analyzes and documents results in accordance with organizational standards, and identifies critical values for appropriate reporting.
  • Performs quality control and quality assurance activities, maintains equipment and supplies, assists with clerical laboratory functions, and supports procedure development and documentation.
  • Works independently using sound judgment, assists with training new staff, evaluates new equipment and procedures, and performs phlebotomy as needed.
  • Other duties are performed as assigned by laboratory leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Active and valid Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT (licensure must reflect education requirements) required, or eligible for certification with requirement to obtain within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights.

Skills

  • Proficiency in laboratory equipment and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This role is available on a Night shift schedule.
