Medical Technologist

About the role

Under general supervision, the Medical Technologist performs routine, complex, or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological, and immunoassay procedures on body fluids to aid in diagnosis and treatment evaluation. The role requires maintaining the highest standards of medical technology and compliance with accrediting agencies, as well as performing related quality control and clerical work.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, complex, or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological, and immunoassay procedures on body fluids.
• Maintain the highest standards of medical technology and accrediting agency requirements.
• Conduct related quality control and clerical tasks as required.
• Effectively use laboratory equipment.
• Perform and report testing on quality‑control and patient specimens rapidly and without delay.
• Demonstrate competence in all testing procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or medical laboratory science.
