Medical Technologist
About the role
The Medical Technologist position at Yavapai Regional Medical Center involves performing and reporting a wide range of laboratory tests to ensure accurate and timely results. Key responsibilities include executing analytical procedures, analyzing specimens, operating and maintaining instruments, interpreting results, conducting quality control, and assisting in the validation of new procedures and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Performs and reports waived, moderately complex, and highly complex test procedures on patient specimens, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Provides excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results, identification of patterns of bias, rapid notification of critical values, and completing testing within established turnaround-time limits.
- Ensures major automated equipment is operational by performing maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting procedures, including contacting vendors for assistance or repair.
- Performs calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are performed within established parameters.
- Participates in proficiency testing and reviews results with laboratory clinical leaders.
- Assists in evaluating and generating compliant documentation for the validation of new procedures and equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
- International Medical Laboratory Scientist, Blood Banking, Chemistry - ASCP, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Technologist in Molecular Biology, Medical Laboratory Scientist - Med Technologist, Medical Technologist AAB, Technologist in Microbiology, Medical Technologist AMT, Specialist in Hematology, Specialist in Microbiobiology, Med Technologist - ASCP, Histotechnologist (preferred).

Pay
The posted compensation range is $30.91 - $45.98 per hour, reflecting the lowest to highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Schedule
The schedule is 80 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 0600-1430, alternating weekends.
