Medical Technologist

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 3+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• State Medical Technologist license required.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Blood Bank experience required.

Work Environment

• The role involves working in a laboratory setting where the use of personal protective equipment is necessary to maintain safety.
• The position may require flexibility in working hours, including overtime or different shifts based on business needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
