About the Role

This is an extraordinary opportunity to join our founding Los Angeles team. This position will work directly with clinical staff collecting samples to process and test in-office orders of waived and moderate complexity assays, interact with partner labs for send-out of high complexity testing, and maintain the laboratory with a focus on compliance and quality. The position is on-site during business hours on weekdays with occasional need for additional coverage due to clinical and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, process, transfer, and pack patient samples for laboratory testing, ensuring the highest quality of sample submission.
  • Partner with the Clinical teams to provide feedback on the quality of sample submissions and the timing of operations/logistics to ensure optimal testing and minimize errors.
  • Complete registration, documentation, and tracking of samples using Atria and vendor applications and platforms.
  • Prepare specimens for send-out to reference labs, including spinning, aliquoting, labeling, stabilizing, and packing specimens, as well as reporting on sample quality and providing feedback to clinical staff for recollection if needed.
  • Interact with and coordinate logistics of package pickup, tracking, and delivery for submissions to partner labs.
  • Perform Point of Care testing using a variety of laboratory assays and platforms, including transmitting results to the patient chart and communicating critical values to the patient's care team.
  • Maintain the laboratory environment and equipment in a clean, safe, and compliant state.
  • Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
  • Ensure submissions by clinical staff meet all regulatory requirements as well as Atria's best practices and quality standards.
  • Perform all activities to complete daily, weekly, and monthly logs to ensure continual compliance.
  • Support and assist with quality initiatives.
  • Assist with the ordering of medical, phlebotomy, and laboratory supplies.
  • Track inventory items used in lab workflows and coordinate with multiple departments for receipt, invoicing, storage, and restocking of supplies in the lab, exam rooms, and clinical spaces.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned, including some administrative tasks as needed.
  • Be punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts.
  • Use communication skills with appropriate medical terminology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or other relevant field).
  • Active California MLT license.
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience in a combination of Point of Care and High Throughput environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a clinical laboratory environment with experience in Hematology and Chemistry.
  • Experience with waived and moderate laboratory operations is desired.
  • Experience with phlebotomy and patient-facing care.
  • Experience in laboratory processes such as accessioning, specimen processing, performing assays, and quality troubleshooting.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.

Pay

$33-36/hour
