About the role

• Provides patient personal care/hygiene and physical comfort, including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothes, bed making, ambulation, lifting, turning, moving, transferring, skin care and bowel/bladder elimination.
• Delivers additional care as required to meet the primary needs and comfort of assigned patients, based on skill, ability, scope of practice, and patient acuity.
• Prepares patients, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures or examinations.
• Performs, monitors, reports, and documents all clinical activities within scope of practice.
• Observes and reports changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Obtains labels and transports a variety of samples (e.g., urine, stool, sputum specimens, and blood products).
• Provides patient information to nursing staff for inclusion in the interdisciplinary plan of care; documents relevant patient data in accordance with work‑unit standards.
• Assists nursing staff with admission, discharge, and transfer activities, including inventory/storage of patient belongings, providing personal care/comfort items, orienting patients/families, and transporting patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds.
• Maintains a neat and organized work environment; orders, stocks, and replenishes supplies and equipment, identifies and reports problems, enters equipment repair requests, tags equipment, and removes it from service.
• Maintains a safe work and patient environment, adhering to the hospital’s safety, risk management, regulatory standards, and infection‑prevention protocols.
• Participates in quality‑assurance and improvement initiatives as requested.
• Engages in growth and development opportunities.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program (required upon hire).
• Military medical specialty training (required upon hire).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license for Washington State (required upon hire).
• Basic Life Support – CPR certification through the American Heart Association (required upon hire).
• Preferred: Six months of related work experience.
• Preferred: Experience in a hospital setting.

Pay

$24.11 – $38.94 per hour
