Medical - Surgical RN

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high‑quality care that truly impacts patients' well‑being and recovery. You will provide individualized, comprehensive care, make critical assessments, perform skilled procedures, and meticulously implement patient care plans while collaborating seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to department and hospital policies, including safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
• Stay current with trends, developments, and regulatory requirements affecting your scope of responsibility.
• Administer, oversee, and document medication administration (topical, oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intravenous) per physician orders and hospital policy.
• Assess patients holistically—physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs—and gather relevant data.
• Implement appropriate patient interventions, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans based on ongoing assessments.
• Prepare patients for discharge and coordinate post‑discharge needs.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence, using appropriate communication tools and understanding cultural impacts on care.
• Provide care to the department’s defined patient populations with knowledge and skill.
• Engage in professional growth opportunities and demonstrate self‑accountability for mandatory requirements.
• Document care delivered and patient status using the nursing process in accordance with FHS standards.
• Receive, verify, and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and execution of physician orders.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (required upon hire).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State (required upon hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR certification (required upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• One year of related work experience in an acute care setting (upon hire).

Pay

$47.86 – $90.42 per hour
