Job Summary

As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care that impacts patients' well-being and recovery. You will provide individualized, comprehensive care, make critical assessments, perform skilled procedures, and implement patient care plans. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to focus on optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
  • Documents the nursing care plan and incorporates the nursing process following the standard of care for patient care area.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
  • Involves the patient and family/caregiver in desired outcomes in formulating the plan of care and in appropriate educational activities in preparation for return to home situation.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.
  • Uses knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
  • Documents changes in patient condition and response to interventions within established timeframes.
  • Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.
  • Recognizes limits of scope of practice, seeks multidisciplinary collaboration, utilizes appropriate resources, and follows chain of command.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • One (1) year recent acute care RN experience
  • RN License with the state of Arizona
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), obtained within 6 months of hire

Preferred

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing
