Medical Screener - Reception Technician (Customer Service) (Bilingual – English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Absess self-administered health history and answer basic medical questions.
• Perform health screening procedures including blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
• Obtain a sample to measure donor’s hematocrit and total protein levels.
• Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.
• Answer donor questions promptly, accurately, and professionally.
• Register and transfer donors based on appropriate training and operational needs.
• Answer the telephone and transfer calls as necessary.
• Notify staff of any reactions donors may have during or after the pheresis process.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Understand and follow policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment and ensure sufficient supplies are available.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
