About the role

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. Reports to the Assistant Center Manager.

Responsibilities

Aids qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing health history, answering medical questions, and referring donors to medical staff when necessary.
Performs health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, and proper nutrition.
Ensures all donor questions are answered promptly, accurately, and professionally.
Registers applicants and transfers donors based on appropriate training and operational needs.
Answers the telephone and transfers calls to appropriate staff members.
Maintains alertness and awareness during the pheresis process to detect any reactions from donors and notifies appropriate staff.
Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
Accurately records donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
Understands and follows policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs if applicable.
Maintains a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed.
Fulfills all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.
Promotes safety in all actions.
Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
May require bilingual skills, at the discretion of the organization, to meet business needs.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Understanding, remembering, and applying oral and/or written instructions.
Ability to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
Occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and high-level manual dexterity.
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
Ability to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.

Qualifications

Understanding and following basic instructions and guidelines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Knowledge of Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.

Pay

The expected base pay for this position at hiring is $16.61 - $18.13/hr. Please note that this wage range reflects what CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies, and other relevant factors.
