Medical Research Tech III

About the role

TTUHSC is a nationally recognized institution that provides comprehensive clinical services and educates students. This position works in a research laboratory and may involve the use of select agents.

Responsibilities

• Assist Principal Investigator in maintaining a supportive and collegial working environment.
• Record procedures and data in the laboratory notebook.
• Establish and maintain laboratory records.
• Conduct and/or supervise laboratory support activities.
• Train new students/employees in experimental procedures, library work, preparation of talks, publications and grants.
• Design, execute, and train new students/employees in animal care.
• Maintain animal xenograft experiments and daily animal rounds.
• Support the Service Plus philosophy of Texas Tech.
• Process new primary patient samples to include blood, bone marrow, tumor and fluid models.
• Occasionally assist with hiring, firing, and evaluations of assistants.
• Support the development and maintenance of primary and established cell lines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a science field, or equivalent combination of four years of job-related experience and college education.
• Experience may be substituted for college education on a year for year basis.
• Experience working with molecular techniques is preferred.

Pay and Schedule
