About the role
TTUHSC is a nationally recognized institution that provides comprehensive clinical services and educates students. This position works in a research laboratory and may involve the use of select agents.
Responsibilities
- Assist Principal Investigator in maintaining a supportive and collegial working environment.
- Record procedures and data in the laboratory notebook.
- Establish and maintain laboratory records.
- Conduct and/or supervise laboratory support activities.
- Train new students/employees in experimental procedures, library work, preparation of talks, publications and grants.
- Design, execute, and train new students/employees in animal care.
- Maintain animal xenograft experiments and daily animal rounds.
- Support the Service Plus philosophy of Texas Tech.
- Process new primary patient samples to include blood, bone marrow, tumor and fluid models.
- Occasionally assist with hiring, firing, and evaluations of assistants.
- Support the development and maintenance of primary and established cell lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a science field, or equivalent combination of four years of job-related experience and college education.
- Experience may be substituted for college education on a year for year basis.
- Experience working with molecular techniques is preferred.

Pay and Schedule
