About the role

Responsible for preparing, scanning, and accurately indexing paper medical records into an electronic system to ensure electronic availability for patient needs.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and handle paper medical records while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Index records within 12 hours of pickup, verifying patient and record details.
  • Review scanned images for readability and proper alignment.
  • Perform basic record release functions or provide records promptly in the absence of Release of Information staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least three years of medical records experience or related coursework with continued enrollment in a HIM or HIT program.
  • Preferred experience with Clintegrity 360 and Epic systems.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in computers, Windows, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and shared file systems.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently, and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
