Responsibilities Of a Medical Records Coordinator Receive and follow work schedule/instructions from your supervisor as outlined in our established policies and procedures.Organize, plan and manage the medical records function and health information in accordance with established policies and procedures, Federal and State Requirements as well as current standards of practice determined by the American Health Information Management Association.Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.Prepare, organize and determine the completion and consistent categorical storage of resident charts as required. Develop and revise procedures and documentation forms to allow for the organization and maintenance of resident care and resulting health information documentation for Saint Elizabeth Home residents.Prepare qualitative and quantitative reviews of physician, registered nurse practitioner and nursing documentation in medical records to ensure visit schedule is maintained.Prepare medical records for resident admission, transfer and discharge.Achieve medical record depletion that appropriately disperses resident health information record within access for continuity of care to meet State and Federal regulations.Attain discharged resident records that are complete in an established format, without missing signatures of physician, nursing or ancillary health care team members.Discuss with the Director of Nursing Service and Nurse Manager:Recommendations for efficient record storage and placementInconsistenciesOmissionsAttend seminars/conferences to remain current with health information practice.
